I truly enjoyed my first semester at Kennesaw State University. I enjoyed 21st Cen Teaching & Learning. It was exactly what I thought it would be: Engaging, authentic, and rigorous.
I understand the standards of Instructional Technology so much better now. However, I wish there could have been a module that took a chapter, and required us to work with standards and the questions of knowledge, skills, and dispositions based on field studies. I did not like that being separate from our class. We needed some refortification of the field studies assignments embedded in our course. I love the use of digital software and Web 2.0 sites in my teaching and coaching, and I am so ready to share with other staff members. Having groups was such a help, and it reminded us that we were not alone in this venture. Thanks to my classmates as well as Dr. Williamson, I feel like an “expert” in coaching an Engaged Learning Project. I would also like to add that I am changing teaching positions within my high school. I will be teaching ELL. I chose to change, and I spoke with my adminstrator . I presented my idea of being an inclusion teaching for my ELL students in their core classes yet also being a digital media coach to them and to the core teacher. My principal liked the idea, and is very supportive. I hope to take my ELL students as well as the regular education students to higher levels of LoTi as they digitally collaborate together.
